Bongo Fury

Does anyone have their mains hook-up connector on the underside of the vehicle or behind a bumper like the T5 folks? I don't want to cut a hole in this beauty if I can avoid it.
There's a flat buttress to the side of the rear cross member that looks promising but a lot of water looks like it's thrown up there.

I have seen a bongo with the set up you talk about. I have bought the parts to do myself but yet to get around too. I bought the 240v male connector with a cap which covers the terminals when not in use.

Ours is tucked away behind the rear off side wheel arch - well more towards the bumper than the arch itself. The cable goes up through the inside of whatever the metal bit at the side of the rear door is called. It goes almost as high as the roof and then come's down to exit near the rear offside blind switch.
We never use it as we rarely camp near hook ups and we have plenty of solar power

I'm with you on not cutting any holes in the van.
Mine is one of these: https://www.jacksonsleisure.com/caravan ... cal-inlet/ mounted next to the O/S/R foglamp bracket, I had a towbar already fitted which facilitated attaching it there.

You can just see its white cover peeking out behind the foglamp!
I've driven through some filthy weather (think last Easter anywhere in the UK) and been able to hook up immediately without frying myself so the cover does its job although the socket is quite exposed in that position.

This idea is probably the best approah. Mine had been fitted on the side by the original conversion specialist. I not the side panel can flex a lot when plugging in / out. It's not really very well supported and as we know Bongo's panels are thin.

Mine is out of sight underneath behind the os rear bumper. I cannot understand why the trend was for a hole to be made in the side of the van to fit the electrical hook=up especially given the Bongo and it's relationship with corrosion.

That's exactly why I requested my EHU to be fitted underneath. I was amazed that the company had never been asked to do that before!!

Mine is located under the bonnet next to the starter battery. The cable can be feed in under the bumper, bonnet, or various gaps. No holes cut, no rain or coŕosion issues.

I was just going to say I've seen one fitted under the bonnet before, the owner popped the bonnet up connected the cable up then dropped the bonnet down onto the catch with the cable trailing out. Looked a good idea to be honest.
