Hi all ,

I have a few very simple questions.

1. Will a facelift front bumper fit onto a preface lift model?

2. Does anyone know where i can find the bottom fitting brackets for the bull bar ? As im struggling to see how it attaches to the front ?

Ive basically got a front bumper lip and side skirts but i own a preface lift model just wanted to know if i can fit them without buying a new front bumper.

Also anyone have any idea where i could get some bottom bull bar mounts aswell ?

Have you compared the fittings for Mk1 and Mk2 bumpers in the Lushprojects parts book scans? They appear to be very similar.

It might be worth checking you have all the bits of the front spoiler kit: http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... 2of02.html
Notice the different centre reinforcement panel - on the non-spoiler models this carries the same part number for MK1 & Mk2 bumpers, and appear from the picture to pick up on the same mounting points. Also note the inner side mounting brackets (51-9J8/ 51-9J9) which look as if they should fasten the outer ends of the spoiler to the bumper corners.
Getting along to a Bongo Bash and doing some first hand comparisions would probably answer all your questions for certain.

Had another look at the parts book, looks as if the inner side mounting brackets (51-9J8/ 51-9J9) in the aero kit MAY fasten to the lower corner reinforcing brackets (50-190A). If they do, then the spoiler picks up on existing fitting points throughout.

Oh ok , maybe an option.

However when i offer the front lip upto the mk1 bumper theres about a 2cm gap at leading top edge and a inch gap on one side.

I will get some pics this evening.

I have a 2003 Areo Bongo. Give me a pm with an email if you need close up photos of particular fitting points.

Ref your bull bars, can you make a card template and get a bit of steel cut to size for your brackets?

As promised , this image is the bumper in question with the spilter laying on top.
as you can see it slightly over hangs the corner in the pic , but the other side it tight up against bumper?

This is the vehicle in question , which im not sure if i need to purchase a face lift bumper and grill just to accomadate my front splitter ?

Looks like you need the facelift bumper as it appears to be quite different in profile.

Yeah thats what i was afraid of, would i need the grill and lights to?

And then, I seem to recall from very old BF discussion, you have to butcher the facelift bumper so the FDB ( fender defender bar - the BF tribe don't accept the Bongo ones are the emotive bullbars) can be fitted.
