Abs sensor

I still haven't sorted the abs sensor.
One quick question...
Will an offside sensor work on the nearside?
They are down as slightly different part numbers but I'm guessing the sensor will be the same? Perhaps just different mounts on it to suit that side?
My only worry was whether the sensor would be orientated any differently but I can imagine it would be.
I guess the cable length could be different too. However the nearside would if anything be shorter so that should be ok. The resistance on working ones is the same and it is only a very simple device.
What do you reckon?

Can't help with using one meant for the opposite side, but did you have no luck with any of the breakers? There seems to be quite a few being broken around the country.

Almost certainly provided the sensor can be removed from the support of course.

All sorted.
The brackets are easy enough to remove, I just used a big screwdriver to lever them up. No real danger of damaging the cable as they have rubber around them where they go through the brackets.
So swapped the brackets over to the new sensor.
Cleaned up the new sensor ready to go in.
Found that the cable was too short. So cut down the old cable to make an extension piece.
New sensor wouldn't fit in the hole, so used a Dremel sanding drum to clean out the inside of the hole until it dropped in easily.
Bolted everything together and just been for a test drive.
So if anyone needs to know for the future...
The offside and nearside sensors are more or less the same. The nearside is shorter by a good 6" or so. The brackets swap over easily enough and the rubber bits are in the correct place for the correct brackets.
Saved me a good bit of money, still horrendously expensive for what it is though!
