Hello all
I'm working through a few performance upgrades at the minute , more about these later but I was wondering what the advantages would be of a 4 to 2 wheel drive conversion on my 95 bus ?
My thoughts are that for the most part I'm carrying around all that extra complexity and weight for nothing ...and weight is the enemy of power and economy
My questions are if anyone has done it how it worked out and if I ever do it what it entails ? I have access to a 97 TD 2WD breaker so parts should not be a problem.

Easily enough done and others have done it (usually due to viscous coupling failure necessitating it i think). 2wd generally gives 2mpg better than 4wd but whether that holds true for converted 4wds i'm not sure. Shame to lose 4wd functionality though - they are much better in muddy fields.

Agree with Mike, plus handy if it should snow.

Personaly I wouldn't remove it, and the vehicle may be difficult to sell should you ever want to.

Insurance may be an issue too, would certainly need informing of the change, and they may see it as a major change and possibly a safety change.
