Spare wheel info for new Bongo owner

Hi...new member/Bongonaut. I am picking up my Bongo V6 2002 next weekend hopefully. When I was looking round it I noticed the spare wheel was one of those "space saver" types. It looked very old......

It has 4 new tyres, fronts are 195/70 R15 and rears 215/65 R15. Reading up the information I can glean is that the different sizes are due to loading issues.

I would like to replace the space saver with a standard sized one (I assume 15")....but how do I get around the two different sizes? Is it best to carry some tyre foam as well?

Thanks in anticipation.

Mims

Hi, and welcome to BF.

The different size tyres have the same rolling circumference, which is particularly important on a 4wd, much less so with 2wd, so either size will be fine as a spare.

Many peeps run the same (larger) size all round, which is also fine.

For the couple of quid I'd throw in a can of sealer, but don't expect too much of it. Might get you out of a spot. 8)
