What they don't look into is the amount of polution created by manufacturing a new vehicle against keeping an older, but low mileage, vehicle on the road.

Greenwash.

Great article Bob and long overdue. My satanic diesel has sat on my drive for a week as I only drive when I have somewhere I want to go. And at 22 yrs old its done its part in reducing new car build. This article helps to promote a sense of proportion and fairness in the dishing out of dirt etc.

Sell my diesel Bongo? I'd rather shove particulates up a wasp's arse   8)

It is an interesting read.
Apart from pointless scrapping of old cars it could also be seen as a tax on the poor. Not us Bongo owners rich in our lifestyle, of course. It also takes no account of LPG cars as no proof petrol or diesel would not be used....

Looking forward to picking up the Toyota 3.4L V6 legendary 5VZ-FE ambulance next week with no desire to drive through Central London on a weekday. £21 :!:

Somebody needs to invent a climate friendly machine that removes the pollutants from the atmosphere and recycles them into something non-polluting and useful. Problem solved.
