CCTV for use when parked up?

Have just been away for a couple of weeks to find on returning home someone has scraped the bumper when my Bongo
has been parked up on the road.
I have my suspicions but obviously can not prove anything.
Does anyone know if there is a type of camera that could be left running when the vehicle is parked up. I could run it off my leisure battery.
My other thoughts are a separate CCTV system at the front of the house.
It is so sickening to find something like this and and the spineless people that do it.

There are a few types, my old system ran continuously front and back taking 1 shot per second giving a 3 day playback capability, but that's well over 10 years old now had it on a previous vehicle. However I have just replaced it with this system
http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2015/3/1/k ... amera.html the review is good, however they have had a few reliability problems, but I'm hoping they have been solved! Still play with the settings at the moment but the video and audio quality are fine, but not found the best combination of G-sensor and Motion trigger yet.

Thanks for that, I'll have a look.
Didn't really know if you could run one for days, but this sounds interesting.

I used to get that very often on my bongo as you I new who it was
He's stopped now after I dragged him out his shop by the scruff of his neck and had ago at him
I don't recommend that option
But if you go for the cctv option on your house you need signs
And there's something about if are recording on public land and someone requests a copy of a certain time , you have to supply them with a copy
When I was holding my friendly shop keeper and talking to him the police officer who appeared from no where said
CCTV is very rarely used in court as evidence , there was cctv of his mate running into my bongo hard that day and driving off the officer didn't even go and look , he said no point won't stand up in court
So I'd go for on board cctv

Someone I know uses a 12v wireless CCTV camera fitted inside the car which he runs off the main battery. When he's at home on the driveway it connects up to his wireless network and can be monitored / recorded as required from the house. I use a dashcam and am looking at getting as USB power pack (kind of thing that fit in glovebox and claim to be able to jump-start a car) which will be charging while on the move and then power the camera when parked up.

Hi thanks for both replies, and nice to see you back on the forum again Simon.
I don't think I could use your first option Gassy but feel like adopting those tactics.
The wi fi camera seemed interesting, and I will explore all options.
I rather fancy a front and rear camera with some form of impact triggering.

I have a pair of dash cams front/rear fitted.....just wire them permanent live with a over ride switch,
They use very little power and mine have been running 24/7 for 2months now....very good reliability to date. I think they were £20 for the Pair from china....I will try and post a link

I bought 3 to allow for a failure, so far not required the spare.
I did previously try 3 other cameras costing from £40 to £60, they all failed within days. I got the refunds but almost lost faith....bought the cheapos as a last resort and so far so good.

That's reassuring to learn about the reliability.
