After giving up on trying to fix my non-opening sliding door (I made it as far as removing the trim before deciding I'm more likely to lose/break something than sort it) I remembered that our AFT has been very temperamental lately, with a largely-unresponsive switch.

Being a bit rubbish at these things, I couldn't even figure out how to remove the switch unaided. Had nearly given that up too until I found this youtube vid which explains it all very clearly. My switch contacts were black, they are now shiny, and the switch responds very briskly.

Great news. I too have to thank Geoff for his excellent video and I achieved the same result as you, both with the AFT switch and with the (electric) blind switches. Its clear than one issue with these ageing vehicles is electrical contacts becoming cacked/tarnished etc and it's a big help to know that in many situations the cure is simple and cheap.
