Well it is different for us self employed .
I always was going to retire at 50.
My Dad was a civil servant and retired at 55.

I am 64 now.... best laid plans etc. :(
However if all goes well I should be hanging up the spanners shortly.
Keep yer eyes peeled for a rusty Bongo draggin an old caravan up and down the country ... some time soon. [-o<

Have to admit I have been lucky.

I was able to work part time from 50 and retired at 60, although it was rather forced on me. I'm fortunate to have a company pension, not a fortune but don't half help, and I still do odd part time bits.

What really annoys me is even class 1 driving is now little more than minimum wage, 40 years ago, when I started, it was a reasonable living.

I keep getting told, "That's the going rate, but we're desperate for drivers".

Not desperate to pay what's right. :?
