Radio wiring mismatch

This bl**dy thing is driving me nuts.
The problem is that the radio cuts out and displays "wiring mismatch reset and try again".
I gather it relates to the wiring of the speakers not the supply. So I took out all the paneling and remade connections to speakers reset the radio and everything seemed fine. 30miles and the error message came up again. Took the unit out checked all the connections, no obvious issues there reset and a few more miles then it did it again. I figured the unit was bad so though of replacing it but then the rear wiper started working and wouldnt turn off so I had to pull the fuse. When I got home I replaced the fuse and started checking out the wiring as it runs through the tailgate when all of a sudden the error popped up on the radio.
The wiper started working as it should but then driving in to work it came on again and wont turn off till I "reset" it by pulling the fuse!
P.S after all this fiddling about I seem to have a Canary trapped behind the drivers side of the dash constant squeaking coming from somewhere. It may have been there before and I not noticed it because the radio was on.
Any ideas or is a visit to the autosparks?

Sounds like you might have a contact inside the loom at some point between the speaker wiring and the rear door wiring, hence the intermittent nature of the problem. Have you replaced any wiring, done any work behind the top level trim or had any welding/repair work carried out in the last year or so?
The speaker circuits and the rear washer circuits both occupy space in the"F" loom that runs towards the back at high level

Ok Thanks. I have not been in that area at all and no welding.
I have just realised that the passengers door locking is not working either the unit makes a whirring sound but does not pull done the lift button.
Could this be a problem with the door loom as it enters the door ? Would that figure with the rear wiper issue or maybe I have two faults here?

It could be a similar problem, however if the door motor is making a noise that implies the motor is running but a mechanical problem with activating the lock itself, rather than a wiring loom problem.
Does the error code suggest which speakers, or what happens if you disconnect pairs to try and isolate which one, like disconnect rear speakers and test for a few days, then left pair etc and see if you can identify which one is having the problem, its unlikely to be multiple speakers all at the same time!

No unfortunately it doesn't. I will try the disconnection routine and see if it pops up.
Just had the dash apart trying to find the source of the squeak (not found) and checked all connections whilst in there all seem OK.
As you say its probably mechanical on the lock motor. Bongo Spares on Monday.
Weird that these all happened since reversing the polarity on the O2 sensor, sods law.
