Mould and Mildew Remover

Upon opening the roof again, I was greeted with black spots inside the tent again
This was despite airing the tent for 3 sunny days before packing the camping stuff away last October.
Anyway - I've always found that Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover works well but only had a little bit left, so decided to do a bit of a comparison between the three brands we had in the cupboard.
So the first was Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover (bleach based) - approx £3.50
The second was Astonish Mould and Mildew Remover (bleach based) - £1
The third was Powerforce Mould and Mildew Remove (Non bleach) - £1
I applied them all in the same way - sprayed on and gently sponged it around the affected areas, then left it for 10 minutes, then rinsed with plenty of water.
I did one side with each product.
Starting in last place - the non bleach stuff, did nothing at all - the black spots were still there. Rubbish!
Second place - Astonish - Most of the black spots had gone and with a bit of a rub with sponge the rest went too.
First place - Dettol - All the black spots had gone, just need rinsing.
The Dettol and Astonish both worked, the Dettol smelt stronger and it becomes uncomfortable to be in the tent with the spray. Astonish seems to be more watered down. However Astonish does the job, and considering it only costs a pound, I'll be happy to buy it in the future. Astonish was also more comfortable to work around.
Perhaps if the mould is really bad it might be worth going for Dettol but if like mine it is just patches of black dots, then I think Astonish is worth a try.
