this is my version
note the new positions of the struts in order to get maximum height

resizing a bit severe

don't forget to include the width of the U tubes when cutting the roof in half for any easy fit, mine is a tad on the tight side.

will look at tommorrow

Thanks for the replies
I’m sorry I did that last post in a bit of a rush from my phone
I’m just trying to get the Aluminium U section to carry out the Cat Flap Mod
I think I need something with a 30mm internal dimension
I just thought if anyone had done it they could let me know what size they used and it would save me the problem of ordering the wrong stuff and if there is some were I could get it on line all the better
I had a look in the local B&Q but they didn’t have anything

Mine is a sort of black rubber stuff. Not a clue what size. I aquired it as a freebee from someone who had bought A bongo with it fitted and retro fitted a standard roof, I saved it from being taken to the tip. The thickness of the roof should be measurable from the standard roof flap.

Hi Bob UK,

Did you manage to get this done in the end? I am looking to do the cat flap modification myself and would like to know people's experiences and materials used.

Thank you..! :)

Michael.

Hi Michael, and welcome aboard. :)

Bob UK only drops in here occassionaly, so he may not read this, but there is some info here:

Unfortunately Photobucket have removed the pics, but you may get some useful info from it, and others may be able to help.

Does anyone know how much you need to move the gas struts?
Do they need to move on both contact points or just on the roof it’s self??

Its the anchor points on the van itself, not sure how much however. There are some photo's around somewhere.
