Worcs area? Bongo enthusiast or mechanic for a second opinion on a vehicle

Anyone live or know a mechanic who knows Bongos in the Worcs area?

We have our eye on one at JAL in Inkberrow, Worcs. But before buying or committing to one, Phil who runs JAL(i.e. the vendor) is concerned that I get it checked and verified (which is a good idea, plus he doesn't want to start putting a roof on only for us to change our mind when we actually see it). Makes sense, but the problem I have is that I'm currently in Berlin and can't get over to view the 2 Bongos we've narrowed the search down to.

We've contacted a couple of local mechanics to see if they could view them on our behalf but this is proving tricky as they are reluctant to leave their garage and don't know Bongos very well so don't know what they are looking at.

So do any Bongo lovers out there have any advice on how we could find someone who knows a bit about Bongos who could view them on our behalf. I'm sure there are Bongo owners out there who are more familiar and experienced with the vehicles than a lot of mechanics.

Is there any one out there in the Worcs area or anyone who knows anyone who could help us get the 2 vehicles checked over (rust, general condition etc)?

If you'd prefer to discuss over email then please send me a private message for details. But anyone who knows anyone- it would be amazing if you could hook us up. It's the JAL Inkberrow site in Worcestershire. Many thanks to anyone who can help, Christian and Laura

There's Dave at Worcester Mobile Mechanics.

He knows Bongos very well indeed as he does Phil's work.

I'm certain that he would give an unbiased view and he has 'Mobile' in his company name.

Otherwise the AA/RAC might be worth a try, but they may well not know that much about Bongos and I'm not sure how they are with older vehicles generaly.

Edit: Just a thought, it might be better to ask for replies by PM rather than posting your e mail details as this is a public forum.

If its too late to edit the post click the little ! to report it and ask a Mod to remove details. 8)

Have replied on your other thread but Dave will be nearer, though always a potential conflict of interests if he's JALs man.

I thought that, Mike, but having met Dave a few times I think he's a down to earth sort and no skin off his nose to tell the truth.

Also I don't think fo a second Phil would supply something not 100%, so really you're asking Dave which is the best of 2 good ones.

I agree Bob, just that in strict legalish terms there's a CoI. But Phil only sells quality stuff and his word is his guarantee and really an inspection ought to be superfluous

As said both will be good ones from them
It's the personal feel of which one you like the look of
Colour out and in , wheels etc
Even tho there the same vehicles I think bongo can look completely different to each other
Side stripes , seat colour carpet colour pattern etc, wheels
I've not seen one as good looking as mine :D
