Bongo Fury

Just fitted a leisure battery with a lovely split charge system off rooster.
I'm connecting the aux/radio and interior lights obviously, the remaining two are for the electric blinds which I dont have........the fuses are in and the leads go to the loom so Im assuming mazda just use the same loom for all 2.5td bongos and just add the motors at the other end depending on the specification, is that right?

would like to use the leisure battery for more aux sockets and also have a stand alone inverter so any suggestions or ideas welcome.

The manual blinds are quite a bit different from the electrically driven ones, I think you need a complete frame

Others have discussed this in the past but have never mentioned if the fuses were fitted as standard, they miss-out other fuses for things not fitted so a little suprised. The electrical blinds can be operated manually of course.

Just confirming, have you the plugs in place for the Electric blinds?
I would have expected them to be there the body would likely have the captive nuts in place also.
Looking at one we have here with manual blinds the depressions are in the interior trim panels for the switches at the correct positions so I am guessing that it should be a fairly straight forward upgrade.
There are plenty on Sleeazebay and there is a fact sheet in the members area on re-trimming the material so black out thermals could be another mod maybe?

I don't have a side conversion just an absolute standard beauty with AFT

I'm not actually fussed about having the blinds electrically operated, I have privacy glass in the rear areas and it's only me and the dog.

My thought process was that given fuses 6 and 7 are in place then I have two live cables that terminate at the other end of the loom but aren't connected. Seems a shame to waste two live feeds that I could use for other things, more aux sockets or even an inverter that I use in my garage. I suppose it's just as easy to wire directly from the leisure battery but utilizing the existing would certainly be very neat..........

Do you have the switches fitted as well ? There are a pair on the dashboard


and then one in the area of each blind ?
If you do then maybe you already have electric blinds and its just the switch contacts that need cleaning which is a common problem, get some switch cleaner in and open them up to give a clean see here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX1SB0xoJOU

thanks for that G8hde, no switches just blanks so when I get round to it I'll take the fuse panel off and see if I can trace the wires.

Ouch. Probably better in a Bongo than a low car. I recall Karena (Bongo owner) having a pheasant fly in the open drivers window of her Bongo. Top that!
