Bongo Fury

Hi all
We have a 98 Bongo and wondering if anyone knows how to replace the aerial? Assume the plastic cap in the centre comes out but have used a sharp knife, and besides losing three fingers, it doesn't want to budge!

best of my recollection its secured by two screws either side. The centre remains untouched. They may be covered by little plastic covers, get them out with the edge of a stanley blade. Mind your fingers though.

I've a good idea there is a 'Fact Sheet' on this.

Got it. Thanks Bob. Looks like the small cap needs to be prised off and then use all six hands to catch a ball bearing as well as other bits and bobs

there is a small spring to catch too. use yer teeth to catch this. then when you have it in bits you will NEVER work out how it goes back together to get the 2 clicks to work correctly. ive done several and still would rather not.

top tip when putting it together use a bit of grease or vaseline, but i cannot tell you where for.

It's good advice to read the fact sheet and no need to remove the two side screws only the middle one but as northern bongolow said there is a spring and ball bearing that needs to be put back in place , if you loose them your goosed !
