Problem fitting FIAMMA F45S 230cm Awning

Post by mikedaws » Wed Oct 26, 2016 6:53 pm

I have a few queries about fitting a FIAMA F45S 230cm Awning on a 2001 Bongo Friendee.

First of all when the brackets are fitted (and the VW Type 3 brackets) which is suppose to fit this model the awning does not hang striaght down, there bracket makes it tilt slightly backwards. Is this a problem?

The second issue is the instructions state that the brackets must be inline with the words SUPPORT on the back and that this area is where you must drill for holding the awning onto the bracket but on the inside this is where the hinge is for the awning so there is no way to drill in this area through to the bracket?

Can anyone advise?

I can try and attach a photo later.

I have a used set of T3 brackets that I never fitted, they have been altered but I can't remember why, they came off a Tin top

You can only fit the brackets in fixed positions, one at the very rear just clear of the glass at a slight angle as the gutter starts to curve round to the back, the front one above the "B" pillar. On our F45T you just drilled where you could reach to get the bolt in. Oh yes it does lean back slightly.
