Bongo Fury

I'm going to have to be involved in something I'd be very happy to have evidence of fairly soon, so does anyone have any experience/recomendations regarding body worn video cameras, please?

Since I'd want to know I'm going to have to accompany bailiffs and then secure a property. There is also a small risk of the 'Customers' returning once the Court Officers have gone so video will save a lot of discussion.

However I can't see a body mount in the range, but there are quite a few mounts available that could perhaps be fashioned into a body mount.

That's about the price point I'm looking at, but of course they go from £25 to £500+++.

Go Pro is the go to make for sports. No good if you want a covert camera though!

Doesn't need to be hidden, I'd rather tell them they're being filmed and hope to prevent problems.

Once the job is done I'll use it cycling/walking etc, we've had a couple of problems with out of control dogs lately, too. Always nice when the owners then scream at us that its all our fault for 'Coming from nowhere'.

Many cycling ones come with a choice of handle bar, helmet and chest mounts. I know mountain bike magazines (e.g. MBR) have done reviews so could do worse than pop over to their web sites. www.bikeradar.com may also help.

Hi,

Before you invest, do check that your chosen model will give you adequate battery life. I have a mate who has a GoPro and it really eats batteries. Other than that, it's a fantastic bit of kit.

Agree some of the claims for,battrey life seem a little 'Enthusiastic'.

Also bear in mind that LiPo batteries loose a lot of capacity at low temperatures, so if you keep the batteries in a vehicle overnight or are outside for some time the capacity can appear to drop - it returns with an increase in temperature but can catch you out!

Main point is they will clip onto a top pocket or jacket without the need for a chest harness or helmet mount and don't need to be hand held.

All the suggestions are good so still a difficult call.

Be wary of IR cameras, they will only show in black and white, and IR LED's don't tend to have massive range from small batteries. So unless your planning on this being used only at night then avoid or at a minimum check out the performance yourself - I notice there are NO reviews to even guide you.
