Has anybody fitted DRLs to their Bongo? If so what were the best to fit and where did you mount them?

As a motorcyclist I hate DRL as I now no longer stand out of the crowd with my bike headlight on. Same again with hi-viz ... everybody seems to wear yellow hi-viz's now.

I fitted these in the bottom slot of the grille above the bumper, ebay pt no 271152776984
They are voltage sensing and fit straight to battery via inline fuse. 2 wires to indicators and one wire to main beam. They dI'm to 50% when driving at night and flash with the indicators if required. Passed mot last month no issues.

Its a very good point. Once they become common, one of their special values is lost. Also, although LEDs have reduced this argument, i wonder how many towns could be powered by the unnecessary use of headlights etc in what my generation would once have regarded as acceptable daylight conditions. When i think of it, i'm sure the law used to say sidelights were acceptable in well light urban streets and such was our concern that dynamos wouldn't keep up with battery drain that we used to keep headlights off where possible!

Parking lights. No such thing as sidelights now.

I use a relay jobby I got from Germany 5 years ago, I have wired it through a Ballast resistor and set it so it illuminates the Dipped Headlights at 40% brightness, similar to many vehicles with them built into the headlights as a separate bulb
When the parking lights are switched on it cancels out so normal lights resume.
