Am I too tall?

Hi,

I'm thinking of parking at Luton Parkway multistorey for our hols, which has a height limit of 2.1 metres. That is our exact height (96 AFT).

So do you think we will fit? I assume the "max" has a little bit of leeway!

Even better would be if any Bongo owners have parked there so I know I'm safe :-)

Cheers,

Rob

We used to get under all the 2.1m, now with solar panel and roof rack its a lot tighter!
But draw up close and get a passenger to check out the situation by standing in the passenger doorway !

There must be more exciting places than Luton Parkway for a holiday.

OK, I'll get me coat.

Nice view from the top floor Bob :D

I kinda need to know in advance, because I'll be dropping the family at the airport, parking up and then getting the shuttle bus back. It will be stressful if the Bongo doesn't fit! Is half the price of the airport long stay rip-off parking.

Cheers,

Rob

I don't know the place but
would not consider a multistory because of the angle presented when going up a level. seen a thought making picky.
The only time i went under a 2.1m sign was when the missus got out, got a big stick and moved the barrier (on a chain)
their 2.1 was not the same as mine.
if you realy want to know is to go there and try it (if the cost is right)

Very good point, I've heard of Bongos getting a whack on the rear top of the roof going down the ramps.

Vertical height as measured but as you go down hill you pivot on the rear axle and the blunt end goes up a few inches. :(

Just remember If the vehicle is fitted with oversize wheels/tyres this might cause a wee problem if the limit is very tight.

Good Luck.

Ta for the advice everybody.

Our Bongo has standard size wheels and tyres - but I don't know if I want to risk it.
Doing a recce is a great suggestion ta (it must be because my wife also suggested it  ), but the £30 diesel and half a day of travel is not worth it in my opinion :-(

Surely somebody in Luton (or nearby) has an AFT - or knows somebody that has!!

Cheers,

Rob

I'll second the caution. I got stuck at a 2.1m hospital barrier in spite of undersized tyres at the time. It was a close call though.
