12v socket wiring

I wonder if anyone has any ideas on the following problem. There are 3 x 12v sockets in our Bongo. When the ignition is on, all 3 work. When the ignition is off, only 2 work. Our local auto-electrician says he's stumped. To me, it seems likley that there are two different circuits, one that requires the ignition on to be live and one that doesn't. I don't want to suggest this to him in case I'm being naive or stupid, but it seems reasonable to me!
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance.

Sounds like one is wired to the Starter battery via the standard Ignition switch and fuse, and the other two are wired to the leisure battery.
The normal Bongo only has two sockets, one at the front on the dashboard, the other on the nearside middle pocket, where is your additional socket and which ones operate from which battery ?
If you look on the fuse panel by the drivers right knee, are there any additional wires added / fuses removed - pictures would help ?

Thanks for your reply. This makes sense. The dashboard and offside rear socket (an additional one) would be off the leisure battery, if your diagnosis is corrct (which I think it is) and the nearside rear is off the starter battery. Bongo in dry dock at present so I can't take photos or check the wiring, but will do so and come back here.
Thanks again for replying.

Unless they have broken into the loom, I would have expected the original ones to be on the LB (Front and Nearside) and the extra one to be on the SB, or perhaps wired into any EHU/switching panel, which maybe switched to the SB rather than the LB perhaps ?
