85kg nose weight and trials bike

I'd like to use a tow bar mounted motorbike rack to carry my trials bike. The bike weighs 87kg, what's the risk to the bongo due to the 85kg nose weight limit?

Hi
The risk is excessive pounding on the rear suspension and chassis mounting. Far away the best bet is a trailer, or one of those frames that lifts the rear of the bike, locking the front wheel, which then trails behind the vehicle!...
Cheers
Helen

Thanks Helen, that's as I feared. I think the nose weight may be lower at 80kg so it's well into the stress zone.

I'm keen to avoid towing and dragging the bike along will wreck it's tyre and drive train (it's a 1970's trials bike).

Obviously you'd need to add the weight of the frame so you'd be well over, I also think a trailer would be best.

100% trailer would be the best way, the Bongo has a rather big behind as it is and with a 70-75kg noseweight we've been known to hit the bump stops once or twice.

Thanks Bob, seems the safest way

Thanks, I sold a large luggage trailer recently. Hated towing to be honest, so will look out for a lightweight bike trailer. Lots of choices

Haven't been able to take it up yet! Last event was 1980 off featherbed lane!

If you don't like towing could you run with the bike inside Bongy?

I'll bet the middle seat weighs almost as much as the bike. 8)

I did consider that Bob, keep the rear fold up in place and remove the bench

70's bikes love being in the back of a Bongo!

My wife would kill me for posting this, but she'll never see it! Not a flattering one for a pregnant woman!
