Hi,
I'd like to get a DAB radio (and cd player / bluetooth) for the Bongo. Any tips / suggestions on what I need to look out for?
I'd like it to be pretty much "plug and play", without having to do anything drastic regarding aerials, etc. Is that realistic?
I'd like something low cost and don't need anything too fancy (second-hand would be fine), so any pointers to specific units/offers gratefully received.
Thanks!

Re: DAB radio for my Bongo?
A very warm welcome to the forum.
DAB radio was discussed in this thread once you get past the Japanese radio bits! One member very pleased with a Pioneer DAB Bluetooth unit. http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... ab&start=0
It is something much discussed and open to personal preferences. Personally I think DAB transmissions have a bit of development to go in the locations I enjoy Bongoing. However whilst waiting for first hand experiences you could search (option in top right corner) the forum. Unfortunately the search ignores words with 3 or less letters so it won't just select on DAB so need to trawl all Radio posts. For aerials, which again have been debated, you could search for
Aerial AND (windscreen OR window)

Yup DAB coverage can be a little less than you might like! Especially away from towns and motorways, Coastal areas, Scotland, Wales suffer badly, best to invest in a radio that has VHF coverage as well ideally with auto changeover, also make sure its capable of DAB+ or DAB2, there may be announcements in the not too distant future .....

Thanks - I wondered why I couldn't get the Search to work!
There's a good thread here: http://igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/view ... ilit=radio
I'm considering going for this, which is inexpensive and has decent reviews: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-DAB-Recei ... Swll1WzGlN

Just to update...
I got this Pure radio: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pure-Headunit- ... re+dab+car
and a DAB aerial splitter here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161515814366
They were pretty easy to fit (had to snip a couple of existing wires to add in the splitter), and they're working nicely!

Excellent. I was tempted by the Pure as good value good looks and good reviews but the more expensive pioneer was a bit better featured plus i loved its looks and unusual controls so decided to splash out on that.BongoTraveller wrote:Just to update...
