Was the bend in the drop link as a result of removing it or was it already like that?

Pretty standard Bongo needs, I'd be happy with that.
After thought, did they check the alternator?

Mine went in yesterday. I had recently replaced front drop links and steering rack gaiter and passed with no advisory's.

I have the advisory (both sides)
....front Track rod end ball joint dust cover deteriorated, but preventing the ingress of dirt.
What exactly is that ? Is it the metal cylindrical can above the perished rubbers on Bongobaz's track rod picture? Are these made of metal ? Or are they just rubber covers ? Thanks.

its like pic 1, the rubber on bazzes has split, yours sounds like its just cracking getting ready to split, they cannot fail it for just cracking as its not letting muck in or grease out, but it will need doing shortly, best to do both sides while its in too as they are sold in pairs.
