Injector pump seal replacement problem

Hi.

Had a leak on the bottom of the injector pump and ordered 2 new seals.

When I replaced the seal at the back where the plate is, I pushed the plunger a bit which moved out towards the front where the domed housing part is with the springs. I just thought that it would push back into place when i tightened up the domed cover against it.

Anyway, I put it all back together and tried to start the bongo and now it wont start at all.

I followed the factsheet and now I'm stuck as it turns over but wont fire up. I tried full throttle to bleed several times and i think my battery wont last much longer at this rate.

Have i missed something glaringly obvious?? is the plunger out of position or something?

Cheers

I'll try cracking the injector pipes as a bit of diesel was lost when changing the seals. airlock maybe.

the bit your on about is called the advance piston for the throttle, it does move side to side, but it can come out so be careful, it has a hole through it as its on a peg.

this post by dandy may help reassure you. as you will see it slides across and marks the face of the side plate.
try cracking the injector pipe at the injectors, (cover with a rag to avoid spraying the inside of your bongo with fuel),

Well I started bleeding this morning. Found the pump was leaking worse than before at the cup side. Tightened the bolts a bit and snapped the one on the right. Nightmare. Luckily got the cup off again and there was just enough thread to grab a hold with with a small pair of wire cutters. Waiting on lawsons diesel getting back to me with a part number unless anyone here knows it for the bolt? Cheers

Good Luck.

Just spoke to them Rita. I've to go down with the other bolt this afternoon and they will give me a matching one. Oh well a leisurely hour walk with the dog there, pint in whiteinch, then back home to attempt again. Thank you =D> =D> =D>
