Hi Guys,

I apologise if this question has been asked before (it probably has several times), I did a search but couldn't find an answer. I just want to know roughly how much I should be paying for a full service, which is changing all filters etc.?

Thanks
Leonne

Afraid no real answer to that one, depends on what the "Full Service" involves and what defects are found and parts replaced.
IE, there is not much point of servicing the brakes and not replacing pads/discs/callipers pipes etc etc if they are US.
These old vehicles don't have a standard service price schedule like modern vehicles.
You need to ask for specific "type detailed " service. And a authorisation before any replacement parts are fitted other than the usual consumable oils fluids etc.....its the etc in your post that is the problem
Good Luck

Thanks, I understand what your saying, it basically depends on the state of the vehicle, that will determine what needs to be changed.

Assuming, brakes, pipes, and so on, do not need replacing and it is just all the filters and oil change, is there a rough idea?

Thanks

Cost will also be dependant on what engine you have. For example, 2 litre or V6 have the additional cost of spark plugs but this can be offset by the longer service interval. Factsheets will prove helpful:

Oil, Oil filter and Air filter for a diesel are going to cost around £60 if you bought them direct . the garage will add on a bit of mark up.

Change all of those and do a visual inspection an hour at most so whatever your garage's labour rate is per hour.

On the service schedule it says replace the Oil every 3000 miles but change the Oil filter at 6000 miles or 12 months and the air filter at 30,000 miles. personally I would change the Oil and Air filters every Oil change as they are only about £15 for both.
