ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
Hi all,
Any ideas on where to start with the above? Are there sensors or similar that may just need a clean?
Regards

ABS sensors on each hub so may be worth checking for corroded / cracked rings or damaged wiring.
Re: ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
The diagnostic connector should be able to tell you which one or what is causing the problem see http://www.philmcfadden.co.uk/MazdaDiagnosticBox.htm

Well all the info you need is on the link above! A wire link and a lamp, oh and a working set of eyeballs to count the flashes!

Re: ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
seeing as there has been a tad of water about check all the plugs and connections as a short could put the light on. check the ones on the abs unit too. dont forget the obvious fuses first.

Re: ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
LED Stop bulbs will cause this too, so if you have fitted them, try normal bulbs to see if that's the issue.

Re: ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
My V6 had the ABS bulb removed to mask a fault (An MOT failure) ..
Never had any luck sussing out issues with the diagnostic plug .. so checked the resistance of the four wheel sensors with a multi meter .. all spot on .. put 12v direct to the ABS pump .. that worked fine .. more by luck .. found a multi pin connector under the plastic coolant tank (by the ABS pump) was not fully 'clicked' home ..

Re: ABS \ 4WD light constantly on
hi all
I had the same problem - abs flickering then stayed on permanently
although an mot failure - and as long as you take your time and not drive up others backsides - don't panic and rush into things
luckily my bro in law ( mechanic ) had one of those boxes where you plug in
I do not think the bongo was listed but we picked a bongo mpv and it indicated front left abs
I have just realised I have deleted the shortcut to the company I got a spare from - I am sure it was George at bongo spares
they sent me a whole hub with the abs unit on
plugged her in - just to check before stripping - and hey bongo - pardon the pun - light went out
bongo spares did also state that if it didn't work - and the light stayed on - I could get a full refund
but worked 1st time - if all the connectors are the same on all wheels - I understand that all hubs are not the same - just as a fault finding exercise
swap all hub connectors and find out if the light goes out - if one does - job done - get the right hub if you havnt been lucky enough to get the right one
if you can afford it - buy all 4 and send the 3 others back -
buy the way - do not try to remove the abs unit - very prone to breaking - that's why they send the hub etc
I didn't want the new - rusty one on my van - but had no choice - lol - as soon as the light went out - I wasn't too fused lol
hopefully you get it sorted
cheers
andy
