I've noticed a dry and cracked hose when snooping around yesterday.

Red circle shows where the hose connects. For reference, 13-222 is connected to the air filter pipe below the drivers seat. The small hose is connected to one of the vacuum stems on top of the engine.

Any idea what the hoses purpose is as well as the ID and OD of the hosing that I need to get??

the hose is a vacuum hose so should be a thick walled non suck flat type thing, not sure of the size but go to any scrap yard and get some vac hose off cars with lecky solenoids fitted.

the hose is connected to the 2 cold start solenoids and the egr operating solenoids. the purpose of the connection to the thick inlet pipe is so that when the cold start is needed the vac picks up the revs via the solenoids, but only when no throttle is used as when its ticking over and warming up, as soon as you attempt to drive off before full warm up you increase the revs with the throttle pedal, it is then that the suction on the thick inlet pipe opens the little filter and dumps the vac from the solenoids turning off the cold start revs pick up as the cold start isnt needed.

its a little more complex than that but thats the short version. think of the system like the old fashioned choke but done automatically using vac and lecky solenoid switches.
