Manifold Stud Question...

I've got the high pitched whine on acceleration just like you'd have with a sheared off #1 stud but #1 looks fine. However, I did notice that this one (from the turbo to the exhaust manifold #10-139) is sheared off and was wondering if this could be causing the whine on acceleration? If so, is this the same size stud as the exhaust manifold?? Amd, if I have to take the back end of the turbo off the fix, should I just go ahead and tackle all the manifold studs while I am in there??

im sure that when i did mine there was an odd bolt that was fitted the wrong way round it seemed odd at the time but when you strip it down its obvious why they did it. just check its not a bolt put in from the inner side and the stub you can see isnt in fact the end of a bolt.
its unclear from this drawing as it shows a stud but when you count the nuts on the drawing to the manifold and the exhaust something doesnt add up.

heres the link to when i did mine, we shall see if this turns up anything.
there you go on a pic of the turbo body it shows your stub still in place, take the nut off the inside nearest the engine.

i would check the rest of the nuts/studs/bolts with a spanner to check they are not snapped and just sat there, or the gasket may have gone so need replacing. in my link there is another way of correcting the warped exhaust manifold by using an old gasket to make a shim.
hope this helps.
