Headrest TV Bracket DIY

I'm trying to fit my flatscreen into the Bongo and have successfully mounted it on the rear of the centre console but as I keep 2 cube boxes/seats here it means the bed cannot extend far enough. I need to have a second position base for when the bed us out.

I have a second flat wall bracket ready to use and thought of bolting it onto a piece of wood which is bolted with u-bolts onto the headrest pillars.

Can anyone think of a neater/better way to attach the TV onto the back of the drivers headrest (I can't keep it there permanently as the hob heat/steam will be too close) so intend switching it easily between the two mounts.

I've seen headrest mounts for iPads on eBay (not heavy duty enough) and have seen one headrest flatscreen mount but this has a different connector so wouldn't be able to move it to the middle position.

Plans/requirements/ideas very welcome for me to make this happen, tools at the ready!

Thanks

Allison

Thanks but it's a heavy flat screen TV so needs a sturdy base :-)

How about this?

Purchase a spare headrest off evilbay, rip of the padding, then attatch tv bracket to headrest frame. Then just swap them over. Might need a small jubilee clip or other means to stop the headrest bracket from sinking.

Only thing is you might need an extra hand to depress the headrest button on the seat to remove tv.

Thanks for this, I have now successfully converted a Halfords head rest attachment which is working perfectly but you are right - I would need an extra hand moving the headrest!

This is a rear one, it does fit both fronts. I got a spare when i cut one up to flatten headrest for sleeping in the back.Image
