Wonderful.
And good to see it driven by a bloomin' great wheel. Ahh hmm.

Re: Ady....where are you?
May be showing my age here, but not exactly sure how long ago this refers to......
I remember a play/programme on telly many many years ago about a character named Mr Bangelstein.
Cant recall the programme or plot, but Mr Bangelsteins employees got the hump as he left them doing all the work whilst he went "visiting" girlfriends while his lads did all the work.
They sang a ditty to the tune played on that contraption, which went as follows :-
Balls to Mr Bangelstein,Bangelstein,Bangelstein
Balls to Mr Bangelstein, dirty owld man
For he keeps us waiting while he goes out mating
Balls to Mr Bangelstein, dirty owld man.
Anyone remember it?

Re: Ady....where are you?
I vaguely remember the play, but I thought it was Mr Balkenstein and his students did the singing.

Your probably right John,it was the students who did the singing, after a few sherbets,Balkenstein obviously sounded like Bangelstein,to mefrancophile1947 wrote:I vaguely remember the play, but I thought it was Mr Balkenstein and his students did the singing.

Re: Ady....where are you?
Hi
I found it on a specific music group on Facebook...a friend is an American music teacher who plays a variety of unusual instruments. I like anything that produces a few notes, and have been known to embarrass my friends , walking along the local high street playing a few notes on a large plastic watering can we just purchased in the market.
I also "do" a rendition on a teapot, and bottles filled with water.....I'm virtuoso on comb and Izal bog-paper...you hum it, I'll play it! I have been called eccentric, but I don't know why?
Cheers

Re: Ady....where are you?
Hi Bob....
We used to go to a pub some sundays, my sister and I and a whole group, and descend on it....They were reputed to sell 14 different types of draught cider....'Twas like an old ale-house must have been, and it was one long narrow room, halfway down was a small stage, and an old codger on the jo-anna, a drunken singer(didn't even get off his drinking perch until he was half-cut), and a variety of instruments. The pub was loud, the music bawdy, the singer out of tune (perfick)...the bar staff were shirty, and the only criticism was they always forgot to give you a fork with your mug of zyder to eat the lumpy bits.
Come closing time, we'd proffer a plastic container or two for a take-away, nip off to the local hills and continue....
Next morning, the hangover was always exquisite!....Hell, they wuz good times!
Cheers
