Corroded drivers side heater pipe - difficult to replace??

Classic corroded tee piece on the heater supply pipe - luckily saved cooking the head by the coolant alarm.
I'm quite handy with the spanners but this looks a bit of a nightmare to replace. Would rather replace the whole thing but thinking about cutting out the offending section instead and using a made-up tee section with silicone hoses. Cannot find a how-to anywhere so just wondering how difficult it is to replace in its entirety?
Thanks,
John

It's doable (although Northern Bongolow did mine), if the coolant pipe is corroded through the two autobox pipes probably aren't far behind assuming you're auto so you may as well do them all while you have it in bits. See this thread for more detail -

Fantastic - thanks for the link. Had searched but didn't see that. Not a 2 minute job then!

The pipe on the other side is a lot worse, fortunately ours hasn't needed to be done yet but when it does the rad & grille has to come out.
There's also a steel pipe over the top of the gearbox (and some steel pipes for the aircon system) that has needed to be done on ours, not such a big job but while you have it in bits... There's a bracket welded to the pipe to attach it to the chassis and that bracket hides the corrosion so you can't see it festering there

I have a set of ATF pipes, and both heater return pipes, brand new, genuine Mazda items. If you ask me very nicely I might do you a deal on them as we are about to have a New Year clear-out

Thanks Ian - will get under and have a look at the others and assess what I need.
