Sliding Rear Seat - Imperial "Lulworth" Conversion

The rear seat of my Bongo should slide forward and then recline flat so that the front edge of the seats meets an insert which makes up the bed. The seat does not come forward enough, so there is a gap of about 4 inches. The seat is stopped from coming any further forward by a "sharks fin" on the floor to the left of the seat. Can anyone advise how to slide it the extra few inches? Brute force doesn't seem to work! Any help would be gratefully received.

If it is like the one that stops the middle bench going back, there is a small lever by the seat leg that lifts a bar, allowing the seat to run past the lump.

Son of a ....
I have a Lulworth, too. I thought that gap was normal!
Just nipped out to set up the bed: pulled the seat forward, flipped the lever/latch (that I'd never even noticed before) and it slipped forward and filled the gap. Perfect!
Thanks for posting the question

The owners manual shows how all the seat controls work (even the Japanese version has self-explanatory diagrams)

I imagine it does. And I have one (two, in fact - found one secreted in the Bongo after buying a new one). Both in English...
But then, I've never been shy of admitting my own ignorance (or downright plain stupidity, on many occasions). Particularly if doing so helps someone or gives them a chuckle.

Indeed! I've lived my life with the mantra "If all else fails, read the instructions." I'm not especially proud of that, but I've found many companions

It's a man-thing. Having to resort to the manual is a sign of defeat

Proves we're manly types, Mike.
Imagine if one of us was caught asking directions.
There would be a "Parade of Shame" before the AGM at Stourport.
