woke up this morning to find window as above has been put out,nothing taken,no stone/brick evident.Question is do I contact insurance or get it done myself?

assuming you have glass cover it usually does not effect your no claims

Thanks! Problem is now I can't find my insurance docs,i know it was renewed in july though.

Hello Jimmy,you will need to check your glass excess,personally I would buy a S/H window you can fit one in 10 mins.£20/30 for glass.

Personally, I feel when you advise your insurance company, they will tag you for next renewal whether you make a claim or not.if It don't envolve anyone else, i.e accident, I would bite the bullet and get it done privatelyas you going to pay an excess probably anyhow..

Thanks for the advice! Tried to ring the garage i use but they are closed till monday so i panicked and rang the insurance (autoglass) looks like I jumped the gun a bit,I assumed the glass would be hard to source for me.I have £100 excess suppose that applies to glass replacement?

Ordered a glass as per rita above(thanks) however assuming its the right one and arrives ok i will need to tint it.Does anyone know if its possible to get for the one window rather than a whole set?

Its usually easier to buy the one with the correct factory tint already present but as that's not always possible at short notice, any decent tinting company should be able to match the current one.

Thanks! just been quoted £30+vat so that brings price up to £76(glass £30+£10 delivery)

Still probably better value than paying the glass excess on the insurance policy
