Thanks everyone, yes our Bongo is a 2.5 litre petrol, and I deliberately chose it for towing. I still haven't got it as Northstar conversions are waiting for the paperwork to come back from the Dvla. Ours is an 02 with only 37000 miles on the clock. Less than 3000 miles per year, and it's in very good condition.Bob wrote:Our caravan is 1600 kgs max weight, no probs with a diesel.
The 2 ltr petrol might puff a bit but you're well in legaly.

We have a single axel big caravan, its 7.2M including the draw bar and weighs about 1500 kgs. I tow it with the V6 tintop no problem. Can we a bit slow on long hills but no real issue. The bongo is a great tow car, nice and steady.
Loads of room inside, huge washroom with walk in shower and you can run everything on 240v or 12v + gas.
