Hi,

Can anyone tell me/translate what the tyre plate is saying on the door panel?

I get that the recommended factory tyres are:
195/70R 15 92S Front
215/65R 15 96S Rear

But what about the two below these - are these tyre pressures of the above fully laden or do these refer to all four tyres sizes the same (e.g. 215/70R 15 98S on all four wheels)? I drive a 4x4 2.5td.

the bottom 2 are different tyre options.

line 3
is sr which is a steel radial tyre, which requires a different tyre pressure. 195 80 15 is a taller profile front tyre, 96s is a higher load rating so needs a diff pressure.

line 4
215 70 r15 is a taller profile with a 98s load rating so needs a diff pressure.

it works roughly like this.

195 70 15 translates to a 15 inch with a 70% of 195mm width, giving the answer in height, so giving an answer in rolling radius.

There is also a statement (on my plate)
"if tyre fitment does not conform to the options recommended, stability will be compromised and not recommended."

This is not a literal translation but my recall of a workmates translation. (Japanese from the same region as my Bongo's parking permit).

Thanks for your explanation, i guess what I'm trying to ask is if lines 3 & 4 are applicable if you have the same tyres sizes 215/70 15 for example on all wheels? I'm just curious to know what the Japanese wording on that section is referring to? I am considering replacing all of my tyres with 215/70 15 and wonder if this would be acceptable and if this is what the plate alludes to? Thanks.
