Replacing Internal Bulbs

This might seem a bit on the pathetic side of competent but I need to replace the bulb in the light in the back. I have a new bulb and thought you just squeezed the sides of the plastic cover together to get to the bulb but it won't budge. Do I just need to get a grip, man up and show it who's boss or am I doing it all wrong and there's a knack to it?

While I have you, gearbox oil leak. I have been advised I have an oil leak from my gearbox and need a new set of hoses/pipes that will cost me between £200-300! Can this be true or do my fellow Bongonauts have a cunning trick up their sleeve? I and my beautifully paved driveway would really appreciate your advice.

In anticipation, the Vincents

The clips are here, there are also little screwdriver slots to help remove, but being such short clips they don't give much before breaking ...... as per the one on the left!

Thank you Geoff but I meant the long light in the middle of the roof however I'm sure the principle applies. Here go my lugs!

Yes five clips on the "U" tube version, 1 at the tip, two on the curved section and 2 towards the rear, again screwdriver leverage points are provided!

Mission accomplished - thank you all, it took a teenager! My big issue now is the leak from the gearbox and the exorbitant cost a new set of hoses.

Aside from any seals ..the usual problem with leaks from the gearbox tends to be the two five foot long cooler pipes that go from the gear box to the bottom of the radiator corrode ..

They are obtainable @ £94.50 the pair ..

BUT .. they are similar to my Toyota Estima and a bugga to thread though the jungle of other pipe work .. to be honest if I was in the same position .. I would cut the corrosion out ..and securely 'splice' some oil proof / Hydraulic 'rubber' pipe in ..

as mike says above, they are do-able but as they are rubber at each end to where they connect simply get some oil grade pipe the same dia as the end pieces and replace the whole lot without splicing into/out of the steel bit, less joint less potential leaks. just cable tie it to the existing steel pipe.
