Sink Waste - What fits?!

One thing we had forgotten to look at / sort was the waste container.

We have a mid kitchen. The sink waste exits just before the rear offside wheel. The Bongo is fitted with the bodykit so has side skirts etc. The waste goes through the side skirt. The problem that I have is that this setup doesn't give much ground clearance.

I have two waste containers left from my old caravan, but neither can easily be used.

The one I thought would fit is like this one:

But it won't slide under, the only thing I can do is make up a pipe which goes down then back up again then down into the container. Not sure how well that would work as obviously it would make a trap in the lowest part of the pipe work.

Just wondered what everyone uses? I realise that all setups will be different but hopefully there are some ideas which could help!?

The other type that we have is much bigger - a copy of the wastemaster type. Even if this fitted I think it would be too big to take with us.

We have one of those and it goes under ours where the skirt rises a little ( oo'er missus   ) about a foot or so closer to the front wheel and then slides back inside the skirt to the pipe...

The only problem I can see is driving off and it being a little flatter than before I put it underneath... #-o

We just use a collapsible bucket which fits under the rear bumper where our pipe comes out. Other than swilling out the odd empty mug we rarely use the sink so often let it drain if we're parked on grass.

We did think about that way, Simon, but was unsure about the reaction of campsite owners... It would be handier though - one less thing to carry! I guess what they don't know about, they won't worry about...Is that the theory? :D

Guys

As I am preparing to make a conversion, where /how do you make the opening to let the water pie through without causing too much damage. I am already nervous about fitting a hook up in the side of the van

I know what you mean about letting is piddle out on the grass, we got a bollocking once a long time ago for just that in my old caravan [-X [-X [-X

Just tried it quickly in the rain and it does as you say fit under near the front and it slides back but it gets a little stuck as it gets to near the right spot. Part of the suspension sits a bit too low for ours - maybe some of the containers are slimmer? Also the pipe hanging down gets in the way too - can't bend it out of the way as it comes through the side skirt. I'm not sure if the wheel would be in the way too before I get it to the right spot?

Ahh! Our pipe comes down through the floor and so there is four or five inches of flexible to play with... it is obviously a little further inboard than yours, too :o

It would be good to make a u bend up
Or a long bit of flexi pipe again making a u bend
Which would act as a trap and stop smells from the waste water container entering the bongo via sink

Given the lack of time before we need to use it, I have gone for a quick result which does the job but will still look for a better method when we get time.

For now I cut the zip ties that held the pipe in place. This allows me to pull it up and out of the hole in the side skirt. Once I have pulled it out, it then just about reaches the hole in the side of the waste container.

The downside to this is that the pipe has been undersealed - so I get very dirty hands each time I need to move the pipe. The other downside is that at the top where it came through the body work it was sealed with something like silicon sealant which hasn't stuck well and just came off in one big lump so it isn't sealed all that well now.

I will look at making a U bend when I have more time.
