Unwin Tracking for Bench Seats

Post by cazzyblues » Mon Jul 13, 2015 3:22 pm

Hi all,
I am having some unwin tracking fitted to secure a wheelchair while travelling. I am wondering if any of you have experience of fitting the middle bench seat to this tracking and making it a quick release. The idea being bench seat in when not using Bongo for wheelchair and quick out again when wheelchair needed to travel. Mostly the bench seat will be out I would think.
Your thoughts please.

Thats a great idea if possible. Could undo bench seat and rotate 180 deg, got to be cheaper than the swivel seat (450 quid)

I looked into this a while ago with the idea of fitting a ply floor around the Unwin track . They seemed to offer two versions of the track and the 'flush fit' version is ideal if laying ply on the floor. In the end I fitted a fixed full width rear bed so took it no further

Yep it isn't straight forward as they have to fix plates underneath to secure track for a wheelchair properly. I have found a company who will do it for £400· It is a professional conversion company who convert vehicles for wheelchair users.I thought I had best do it with them for insurance reasons. Unfortunately they don't think they can fit bench seat to track. Guessing again for safety and insurance reasons.

You could also look at the Koller rail system. Cannonsforge can fit these to campervans too and they have worked on Bongos Worth getting a quote for both systems and fitters.
