HELP: Where can I source this rear brake component/spring

Some years back when changing the rear brake pads, I lost one of the sprung wires whose purpose appears to be to gently keep the pads away from the discs when the brakes are off. I managed to fashion a replacement from piano wire but over the years it has acquired surface corrosion as its not made of the same corrosion free material as the original. Here's a pic of the original:
Anyone know if/how/where I could get a genuine one?

It's called a "Brake Disc Retaining Spring" and it's used on lots of different Mazdas, so you should be able to get it from any good Mazda part specialists for about £5. Part number H26626233.

The disc brake anti rattle springs rot away on most cars ..
Maybe try your local car shop / motor factors as some are not make specific ..ie: the same style will fit several makes of cars ..

Cheers guys, a great help. Might try and see if I can order one online - tedious for time poor me to be wandering over to Warrington in search of a £5 spring. But at least I now know its not a rare thing

Just a thought ..
I had my Bongo tracked the other day at ATS .. while I was watching / waiting I noticed plastic boxes with various small service parts ..
Maybe brake fitting centres would have some .. the thin wire type are a very common part to 'go' on most cars ..
As an aside yours looks very similar to a Ford Probe .. maybe they use the same calipers ..??

Of course it's now back on the bongo and I should have put a ruler alongside that pic so I could check size against other similar parts

Mazda Warrington have been very fast with parts when I've ordered from them over the phone,usually 2-3 days even when the bit's come from the centre in Holland.

I would imagine that your mechanic "Adrian" might be a good source.

Yup, he would most likely have one hanging about and I could ask when next over there. I don't really like asking him for bits for jobs he's not doing though. He's very good and would probably give me one, but its the principle.
