Bongo Fury

I have successfully filled up with LPG over the past Months but all of a sudden it won't take any gas. Anyone got any ideas why? I have tried different pumps and the take is down to one light now

I cannot answer your question but I had a similar issue for a few months after it was converted. Morrison's pumps would terminate after £16 some I went to did not even register.

I took it back and they checked it but could not find anything wrong. I started using shell pumps I actually got the full 4 lights on. No idea why but shell are the only pumps that I can get a full tank the rest still terminate around half?

strange but true!

A few thoughts:

- Is it definitely switching over to gas i.e. are you actually using any or has the petrol consumption suddenly increased?
- Having you tried running it down until there's no gas left and then refilling?
- Is it not the common 'problem' where the gas goes in but the LED gauge doesn't move for a while as the sender gets frozen in place?
- How many different places have you tried filling it at?

Sometimes the pumps take a long time to kick in especially if the supply pressure is low. We visit one pump which can take up to a minute to start filling.

I think the worst one I've used took about 10 minutes to deliver just a few litres so I just gave up.

Thanks all. Tank now showing empty. Hubby has squirted some WD40 around the valve. Running on petrol now. Will try and fill up again and see what happens. Good thought re it being frozen, but temp in Southampton well above freezing now. It doesn't have a cover on the pipe, so I was wondering if a bit of dirt had got stuck in the valve. Have left a message for installers to phone me too.

Sounds like the filler valve is needing attention sticking or faulty float assy etc.

Apparently LPG can freeze on a normal summers day .. more so the evaporator than the filler though ..
