Starter Motor

Post by BonGoRANT10 » Fri Apr 17, 2015 4:51 pm

Does a 1995 Bongo starter motor require any servicing?
For example, oiling, without removing from vehicle.
There would appear to be two plastic grommets on mine.
On EBay there are two separate listings for a new BONGO 2.5 TDI starter, both less than £90.
Has anyone any experience with these units?

A common failure are the contacts in the starter solenoid .. a very simple cheap(ish) fix ...

Readily available (look on eBay) and many Utube tutorials ..

There are two types of diesel starter motor: standard and the North Japanese version fitted to the twin battery version. There are differing opinions in inter-compatibility.
