Reset sliding door microswitch.

Looks like the starter battery has given up the ghost and last night as I was starting the Bongo the boy shut the sliding door.
As the voltage dropped so low the door is now stuck firmly shut.
Just happened to have the Akita in the back so he had fun climbing over seats to get out.
How can I reset the switch without disassembling the door?

Start by slapping your hand HARD on the door panel about halfway along and about third of the way up, several times! It may be just enough to trip the microswitch otherwise its take the door handle off (Circlip at rear of handle) then the door panel, then avoid the black mastic and poke a screwdriver at the circular mechanism in the middle of the door, don't use your fingers!

Followed instructions and repeated hit boy hard, but door didnt budge.
So gave up and took the handle off, then panel then gungy black polythene liner.
What I did from here was to use a 10mm spanner and release the cable.
This then pinged the mechanism back and the door released.
Electronics automatically reset and the jobs a goodun.
Many thanks

That's great, for a while the hand slapped used to work when the battery was just on its last legs, it would get to the last bit of resetting the microswitch and not have enough power left, but it sounds like your battery was so low it just got started and failed!
