The Oldest Bongo Still On The Road
Re: The Oldest Bongo Still On The Road
Really? That's the day production began. If we can verify the chassis number it would mean you have the oldest Bongo on the road.

That would be a find! I'd like to know the mileage and service history on it, to see how its fared over the years?
Allans now closed. In Plymouth, use PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services

Re: The Oldest Bongo Still On The Road
Just picked up my bongo yesterday, not quite the oldest - 21/6/95, badged as a ford freda. Is there a seperate competition for oldest badged as Ford??
Re: The Oldest Bongo Still On The Road
The problem is there are crossbreeds as well to account for, Mazda badge on the front and Ford badge on the rear.

The oldest Ford Freda we are aware of was made on 07/06/95 with VIN SGL3F-100029

Still a classic.

According to the Russian website our Bertie's date of manufacture is 8/5/1995 too.

Re: The Oldest Bongo Still On The Road
Hi,
Just browsing this topic, and thought I would check the Russian site for the age of my M reg 2.5TD 4WD. Seems SGL5-100014 was 09.05.95 manufacture date. Think I spotted one of it's previous owners posting a few years back. Think it was no.4 of the 2.5TD 4WD spec but I'm not sure.
It's still on the road, 174k miles. Yes, it has rust issues but I'm keeping it going! Mechanically not too bad. All belts just changed, coolant alarm fitted and Rusty's self bleed kit installed. Needs ATF change next. Otherwise good!
Just spent a week touring Wales, 700 miles done. No issues and a pleasure to drive.
