No advice forthcoming so -
Flush fit fog lamp cut into bumper .Took two core 14amp wire from fog under bumper - up through rear light wiring harness grommet -along the back of the plastic panels ( having removed cubby and aircon panel for access ) - tucked under edge of trim at drivers door -under dash to RHS of steering wheel . Used a Mazda MX5 mk1 illuminating fog switch ( same as this but ?2.00 from scrappy -
http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id/129 )
this matches the lower bank of switches . In line 7amp spade fuse.
I am clueless when it comes to electrics so a mate is connecting it up for me on Sunday

Oops ,sorry Dandy - credit where credit is due - I spoke to D on the phone and he told me about the rear light cluster removal and possible cable route- made the job easy peasy ( take out two external screws and gently /carefully push the whole cluster to the right to release from holding lugs ).
What I meant was that nothing appeared on the site. I was hoping for detais of wiring connections.
Anyway , now that the information is posted i hope that it may benefit others .
I will not be able to pass on info on the actual connections 'cos I am the class dunce on electrics even though it is apparently simple stuff.
BTW I rang a garage in Stirling which specialises in imports ( the one in the members section which does waxoyling ) and they quoted me silly money to install a rear foglight on an import - they said that it takes ages to run the cable

On my van the rear foglighht switch feed has been piggy-backed off the existing front foglight 4 pin connector. They used the red/black wire which goes live when the lights are on. Hope this helps.

Lots of rear fogs seem to be wired into that front fog switch block ,as are mine. But I have converted it to a connection via a relay, as it would be when used for a front fog.
I might be wrong as I am no expert in vehicle electrics, but with a direct connection onto that wiring you are running everything through the same fuse, and if you have a problem with the fog you will lose the side / tail /& dash lights as well which can't be a good thing if it is foggy.

On my Wellhouse camper conversion, something clever has been done on the offside reversing lamp with some translucent red plastic.
Looks like a factory fitted foglight!
Still has a non Mazda switch on the dash, though, despite the half-dozen blanks.

I used a flush fit fog mounted in the bumper. I altered the housing - filled in the Land R screw mount holes /painted it satin black / used black silicone to glue it into place. looks very 'factory ' and glows bright red on the bumper -nice'n'safe . I might spray the housing the same colour as the bumper later if I can get a spray can to match the colour.
I do not like non - factory switches . There are loads of blanks on the dash so why spoil the job for a hape'worth? .It would apparently be easy to buy the proper Mazda switch and transfer the wiring if you know a little about electrics

We have a saying here in Yorkshire:
"He would skin a flea for a farthing, and ruin a perfectly good sixpenny knife doing it"
...or somthing like that (I'm an incomer, only been here 14 years)
