Hi,

When the hold light flashes does the rev counter stop working?

Just wondering (or hoping) I have a problem with my rev counter rather than my transmission.

No its when the Rev counter stops sending a signal to the ECU that the ECU starts flashing the HOLD light!
Its normally the sensor in that situation that is the problem, which engine type is it ?

It's a 1995 diesel.
