Have had an on going problem with the front fan not working,,,,,,,,,
Checked dashboard switch,, ok
checked resistor pack top of engine bay, joints are soldered one was separated, resoldered this , be carefull to not overheat the remaining joints, crocodile clips are good heat sinks....... fan now working
Lasted for 4 months fan not working again....
Checked all the same problems, no joy
Checked fan rotor and it,s now seized ,,,,, this takes a bit of time but remove all the housing and you get to the fan motor, Stripped the motor down and full of rust and muck, when water gets in there are no drain holes for escape, rebuilt the motor using biro springs for the replacement armature springs. drilled 2 drain holes (5m)...... Bingo fan now works

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a sucessful repair :). I did one a while back where the bearing had rusted to the spindle. The main reason for water getting in is the drain hole under the windscreen gets blocked up so water overflows into the fan.

Hi Thanks for the welcome,,,,,,
Have another on going issue with my rev counter....... it flickers then stops working then after a few miles the hold light flashes,
This has been going on for a while, then it all goes back to normal and works ok, until the random moment it happens again.
At the bash last year the resident bit for sale man (think his name was Bob) had a look and said the flashing times of the hold light were 6 and 9, he had no idea what this meant was wrong.
Any ideas ???????????
cheers Brian

Petrol or diesel? If the latter it could be dodgy sensor: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... lit=sensor
