Bongo Fury

This has been received from Simon in East Sussex. Can anybody help?

My Bongo is a diesel 2.4 4wd and has a 321 away side conversion.

My problem is that I have no electrics whatsoever. Not even the central locking or interior lights

Is this just a case of replacing the battery and leisure battery? I ma surprised that the leisure battery id =s also effected.

To put in context I accidentally ran the battery down recently by trying to pump up the tyre from an electric tyre inflator which I ran through the cigarette lighter without switching the engine on. My insurers got a mechanic out to jump start me but the battery is now flat again.

If the battery was completely discharged it may be stuffed.

You could try putting the LB in its place to see if it starts or take the battery to a garage and ask them to test it.

Can you test the voltage of each with a meter?

LB May have been affected depending on how its wired/switched.

As suggested, a multimeter will help confirm if there is any juice left in either battery. If there is, but everything is dead, then it could be the 100A main fuse blown or a dodgy earth. If a tyre compressor was enough to flatten it then it was probably well past it's prime.

It's also possible the second battery is not configured as a leisure battery. If it's a north Japan model with the winter pack then the batteries are originally wired in parallel so they both go flat together.

I'd also be looking to find where the missing 100cc of engine capacity had gone
