Hi, planning on switching the inner roof round by 180 degrees as per the "alternate cat flap" posts. Not sure how to re-connect the light which is now at front rather than back. Can you run cable through inner roof somehow? Anyone done this?

How much sleeping space (length) is there when the new rear access bit is in the up position?

I am going for the Alternate Cat Flap, you just undo bolts and gas struts on inner roof and rotate by 180 deg so hatch at back. Much better for kids and no need to cut roof.

Got the catflap fitted Saturday.

Fantastic mod, the kids can get into the roof really easily & the mods was completed in 45mins as an exchange (Eva is lovely too)

I’ve turned our roof round as well
I just extended the wire for the light and it runs round the roof panel
I also had to alter the position of the gas struts to get the inner panel to stay up but it was worth the effort
We find it much better for getting up and down and I’ve also removed the hatch and at the moment I’m just using 2 pieces of thin plywood that I can slide under the mattress so I can get up and put the Kettle on without disturbing the other half too much
We also have a roof tent the one with the windows and Memory foam mattress

We now sleep up there all the time and find it much more convenient than sleeping down stairs as we now call it
Plus it’s a novelty for us to go up to bed as we live in a bungalow

Hi Bob, have you got any photos please? I've been contemplating having a go at this myself but would like to see how it changes the space available. Cheers
