				Tailgate struts

				Hi all,
Hope someone can advice me. I am looking for uprated tailgate strutts,I have a thule bike rack permanently fitted and have to prop the tailgate open. Does anyone know where I can get a couple.

				SGS can re-gas or supply uprated struts. Keep meaning to get mine done at some point.

'Re. Opening the tailgate - If you get some PVC plumbing waste pipe, the 32mm stuff, and cut 2 sections which are slightly shorter than the skinny bit of the tailgate rams, then cut them down their length in one place, you will end up with a pipe which you can clip over the skinny section of the ram.
Slide it forward over the fat section of teh ram, and the tailgate works as normal.
With the tailgate open, slide them back so they are dangling over the skinny sections (make sure the split is at the bottom) and the tailgate can be lowered onto them, and it stays up, even with bikes on it.
Pop them back over the fat sections to close the tailgate'.
I've had a set on mine for over a year and they're still going strong. Never take the bike rack off
