When I changed the rad in my previous Bongo I went for a genuine Mazda one as recommended by well respected Bongo garage. You can now buy pattern parts for as little as £50, but will they last 15+ years as the Mazda ones have done? Places like AVA and Wheelquick sell pattern radiators for under £100 so presumably they has proven to be quite reliable to get their approval.

Yes, go for the All Metal Type.
Do you mean that there is one available without plastic top and bottom?
I assumed that the only choice was between copper and aluminium but still partly plastic. It's the join between the metal and plastic which is usually the problem, especially the top joint (thankfully as that is more easily noticed) presumably because it runs much hotter up top.

Hi Frank...
Yes...Salvation is near!...there are all-metal ones...I have one in mine...and an all -metal rear heater...I couldn't find one when I did the front heater some years back....call me an old traditionalist, but who ever heard of plastic radiators?...it's a bit like polythene pistons!
Cheers

Hi Simon
I can't find any on E-bay at the moment!....you can often see them, but have you asked Ian or Allan's...If no luck, you can get radiators made. I had one chopped and modified by an "Old Skool" radiator fabricator when I put a truck engine in my Landy (well, the guys did the effort, and I did the spannering)....some firms still exist, but it's searching small local firms....should be a few around your district!
Cheers
Helen

Thanks Helen. Fortunately, the current radiator is leak-free but its always worth knowing there are alternatives available should the need arise.
